It’s an unfortunate truth that money equates to happiness; or rather that lack of it brings unhappiness, heh, albeit indirectly; if you don’t have it, you’re stressing about it, and stress brings a whole host of other bad things. I hope life eases up for you soon.

I’ve done plenty of office work and I still act like a three year old ;)

If you don’t go, you’ll regret it. The only other option is to wait until your employment is secure again and fly them out to Egypt ;) (The Cairo museum is fantastic!)
