Oh thanks so much – there’s no way of knowing who if anyone ever listens haha except that my station is quite high up the listening charts in general. I try and keep the music varied and quirky and look out for interesting tracks but it’s very subjective and I’ve never been mad keen on most ”mainstream” music. Hope you enjoy Seckou’s kora website – he’s really brilliant.

IAC is a great place for musicians and I highly recommend it – better than Myspace in many ways though I use both.

yes it’s because we work at several of them or transport drums, artists or support the dance classes by playing it means we can go to a lot for free or cheaply. Also we are both self employed so can be very flexible with time – it would be impossible with regular jobs! Hope you’re well. x

This weekend we went to the first ever Kora Festival in the UK (maybe in Europe) at Brighton. The kora is an amazing 21-stringed African instrument a bit like a harp. It sounds just wonderful and is very beautiful but difficult to play. Some of the world’s best players gathered and ran workshops and performances all [...] -

It’s raining and raining here too though we had a fantastic weekend at the first ever Kora festival in Brighton – I’ve put pics up on Facebook.
I’ve never been to a tractor pull but I’ve been to some great steam rallies.

I know exactly what you mean when you go back to places and see people and family you haven’t seen for a while – things being changed but still the same! Glad you’re feeling well and more confident – I always think you look lovely!

We’re back home from a wonderful Drum Camp that we go to annually! Each day I did two workshops – one sabar drumming in the morning and in the afternoon sabar drumming for the dancers which is very fast and energetic! Photo courtesy of Will Sharatt We also attended an early morning workshop twice which was [...] -

oh it’s so sad but inevitable – most animals don’t live as long as humans and it’s so hard to say goodbye as they become part of the family. Thinking of you – hugs xx

I’ve just got back from our annual Drum Camp and I didn’t take a single photo!! Just too busy enjoying myself. We did something amazing called a Gong Bath where you lie with your eyes closed for an hour and the leader of the session created fantastic sounds with gongs, chimes, singing bowls, flutes etc [...]

What a glorious weekend we had in Wales. A chance to take all the grandchildren on P’s side off to a very rustic and beautiful campsite near Llandridnod Wells. Very basic facilities, an eco-camp. The full moon came up over the horizon and I’d never seen such a gorgeous moonrise before. The children had a riot [...] -

I’m sitting on the boat where we’re staying in Poplar Dock in London for a few days. We’re in town for a week of sabar drumming evening classes with our teacher Modou Diouf from Senegal. London is very sunny and hot and I hope it stays nice as we’re off family camping in Wales on the [...] -

I listen to your online radio station quite often, and though not all the music on there is to my taste I’ve loved a lot of it, and heard a lot of people I would never otherwise have listened to. Thanks, I’m really enjoying it :)
